With that being said, this is a 10-inch butcher knife that should be able to handle even the biggest of jobs with ease. The specially treated stainless steel blade is very durable and should last for quite some time. This knife also has a good cutting edge that is ideal for large cuts of meat, but be aware that you will probably have to sharpen it fairly often.
If you need a moderately priced butcher knife that will stay sharp for a long time, this Dexter-Russell Butcher Knife might be a good option for you to go with. It does not look very special, or even very nice for that matter, but it does get the job done just fine.

This makes it a really great knife for cutting apart very large pieces of meat. It’s not great for trimming or boning, but for butchering large cuts, it works more than fine.
The stainless steel blade is not only very durable, but it also comes with a very sharp and narrow cutting edge which slices through meat, fat, and tendons with ease. The F. Dick Butcher Knife features a pretty decent handle that we like. The reason we like the handle here is because it is ergonomically designed, well balanced, comfortable to hold, and it has a non-slip design to keep your fingers safe. It is a nice handle, but do keep in mind that it is made out of fairly cheap plastic, so while it is good to hold and use, it might not last all that long.
That said, it’s a great knife for basic and daily butchering needs, maybe not for a steakhouse or meat factory-type restaurant, but for at-home kitchen use no doubt. We like the high carbon count stainless steel blade, as it is fairly durable and has a decent cutting edge. It does not have the sharpest cutting edge, but it should be more than fine for basic use.
We honestly don’t understand how this is the cheapest knife on this list, because it has a fantastic blade and is built to last for a very long time.
For one, this butcher knife looks absolutely awesome, like something you would see in medieval times. It looks so neat because it has a brushed aluminum handle, which is not very common, but the silver color looks nice, plus the aluminum is very durable. It might be a bit smooth and slippery, especially when wet, but it’s not breaking anytime soon.
The same can be said for the very high-quality surgical grade T420 high carbon stainless steel. It’s quite the mouthful, but all those words equate to a very sharp and durable blade, a heavy 12-inch blade that should make quick work out of even the biggest of jobs.
Personally we would recommend the Victorinox Swiss Army Butcher Knife as the No. 1 choice. The Swiss know what they’re doing when it comes to blades, and it really shows with this butcher knife. Now, if you want something a bit more cost effective, which also looks super cool, the Rada Cutlery Old Fashioned Butcher Knife is a fantastic choice to keep in mind.
